Updated this week

Juristat's updated search is designed to help you quickly find the organizations, individuals, and matters you're working on. It’s accessible from anywhere in the platform and includes several improvements based on user feedback.

Where to Find It

The search bar is now fixed to the top of the left-hand navigation and is always visible. You can also open it at any time by pressing / on your keyboard.

What You Can Search

Juristat search supports multiple entity types. As you type, results will be grouped by category, including:

  • Companies

  • Law Firms

  • Examiners

  • Attorneys

  • Tech Centers

  • Art Units

  • CPC Classes

  • USPC Classes

  • Application Numbers

  • Patent Numbers

View the entire USPTO dataset by clicking the button at the bottom of the search.

Predictive Results

Search results update dynamically as you type, displaying common entities and related records in a grouped view. You don’t have to enter full words. Partial search terms will return results immediately, and matching text is highlighted.

Recent and Favorited Searches

When you open the search box, your recent and favorite searches appear for quick access, making it easy to revisit your work without retyping.

Keyboard Shortcuts

You can open the search at any time by pressing / on your keyboard. Navigate through results using the ↑ and ↓ arrow keys and press Enter to select a result. Use Cmd+Enter (Mac) or Ctrl+Enter (Windows) to open a result in a new tab.

Raw Names Search

While regular search allows you to search for parent organization names, the raw names filter lets you search by the original names of assignees who have filed applications.

If you can’t find what you're looking for, use the Raw Names Search option in the search window. It can assist with edge cases or uncommon entity names.

Next, check the boxes beside the names of any assignees you want to include in your search results. You can also click "Select All" to quickly include all assignees from the raw names search. Once you've made your choices, click "Apply" to run your search.
