Juristat offers advanced application search options, customizable analysis of your application portfolio, quick competitive intelligence analytics on any set of search results, and more.
Getting Started
When you first log in to Juristat, you'll see the Juristat homepage. The homepage displays different views depending on your subscription level.
If your plan includes Data Layer MCP, you'll land on a new home page when you log in. The home page is designed around getting you to your answer faster. You can type any question — "What's the allowance rate for examiner Scott Smith?" or "Pull the latest office action for app 17/234,891" — and get a direct answer from Juristat's data without navigating to a specific report. Press Enter or click Send to start.
If your plan does not include Data Layer MCP, you'll land on the dashboards page when you log in.
Dashboards
Benchmarks Dashboard: This dashboard provides metrics comparing your organization’s application outcomes over the past five years with USPTO data, including allowances, rejections, office actions, time to disposition, interviews, RCEs, and appeals. The Premium version offers advanced filtering and additional metrics specific to: §112(b) and 101 rejection rates, Track One filings, and first action allowance rates.
Practice or Portfolio Overview: The Practice and Portfolio Overview dashboards let law firms and in-house teams view top assignees, classes, and examiners, comparing allowance rates and average office actions at a glance.
Prosecution Strategy: This dashboard quickly identifies applications meeting the criteria for interviews, appeals, or continuation opportunities as well as applications that have gone through extended prosecution or are in front of very low allowance rate examiners.
Maintenance Fees: The Maintenance Fees dashboard shows applications associated with your company or firm that have maintenance fees due in a given due date range.
Competitor Comparison: The basic dashboard compares your company to top competitors using standard metrics, while the premium version offers advanced metrics and customizable filtering.
Outside Counsel Scorecard: The Outside Counsel Scorecard helps in-house teams assess law firms based on customized criteria, allowing them to select the most suitable firms by setting evaluation thresholds and applying filters like time frame and technology.
Outside Counsel Performance: Compare up to 12 outside counsel firms across multiple metrics. Filter by time period, technology, or other criteria, and toggle between “Firm at Disposition” and “Current Firm” views.
Rejections §101: Analyze exposure to §101 rejections, with trends, art unit distribution, and resolution paths. Filter by art unit, date type, and time granularity to understand eligibility challenges and outcomes.

Similarity Search
Similarity searching with Juristat lets you quickly find specific application info, such as identifying applications likely to receive Alice rejections or tracking applications in emerging technology centers.
Private Data
Integrating your private patent prosecution data into Juristat Analytics provides several advantages, including access to current application data at all times, the capability to analyze all your applications, published or not, and receiving prompt alerts for unpublished applications. While Patent Center sponsorship is mandatory for Workflow Automation clients, it is optional for Analytics users.
Workflow Automation
Subscribed users can access the OAR Manager and IDS Manager Dashboards through the 'Workflow Automation' dropdown in Juristat. These dashboards allow users to view and download all completed IDSs or OA response shells and track the status of pending requests and completed packets.
Exploring Different Search Results Views
Once you start your search using keyword search or the search bar, you can browse the results in three distinct ways.
1) Table View
By choosing the "table view" for your search results, you gain access to an unparalleled amount of information about each application.
To access "table view", click the 'Table' text in the upper left corner of your search results.
After choosing the table view, you'll see your applications listed as rows, with default columns showing information about each application.
You can organize your applications to quickly identify, for example, which applications have received the most office actions, the highest number of RCEs filed, or the date of the most recent extension. Additionally, clicking the "Edit Columns" button allows you to add, remove, or reorder columns in your Table view.
A full list of the fields and descriptions is available here.
Exporting Results
In table view, you can export your data to a .csv file (up to 10,000 applications). Simply click the export button located in the upper right corner above the table.
2) Intelligence View
Intelligence allows you to access detailed and customizable analytics for any set of applications in your search results. It provides data such as allowance rates by technology center, annual filing counts, yearly extension requests, and more.
You can customize your charts view by clicking the "Edit Charts" button in the upper right corner, selecting the graphs you'd like to see, and setting the order in which you'd like them to appear.
3) Application View
To view the file history, claims, or other details of an application, simply click on that application in the Table view to open up Application view.
Select what info you'd like in each of the three panels to customize your view.
