Step 1: Add the Juristat Connector

Go to perplexity.ai, click your profile icon (bottom left of the screen), then navigate to Settings → Connectors. Click + Custom Connector.

Complete the Add custom remote connector form. You'll need to click the drop-down to see Advanced settings. Enter the following:

In Advanced settings, enter the credentials Juristat provided:

  • OAuth Client ID: Enter the Client ID from Juristat

  • OAuth Client Secret: Enter the Client Secret from Juristat

You can find the OAuth credentials by logging into your Juristat Account → Settings → MCP Tab.

Select the "I understand custom connectors can introduce risks" checkbox, then click Add. You will be prompted to sign in with your Juristat credentials to authorize the connection.

Step 2: Enable the Connector in a Conversation

Open your Account Settings and click Connectors. Find and click the Juristat connector. You will be redirected to a Juristat authentication screen — authenticate using your Juristat credentials.

To use it in a chat: click the + icon in the message composer. In the Connectors and sources menu, confirm that the checkbox for the Juristat connector is selected, then enter your query. You can find Juristat's guide on prompting using MCP here.

Try a query to confirm the connection is working:

  • "Get me the art unit report for art unit 2100."

  • "Search for recent patent applications filed by Microsoft."

  • "I just received an office action on application 16/123,456. Study the examiner's tendencies on similar office actions and advise me how to proceed."

Publishing to Your Organization

Connectors can be scoped as Individual (private) or Organization (shared, where admins can share org-wide). Enterprise admins can require per-member authentication.

The admin is the only person who needs the MCP server URL, Client ID, and Client Secret. Once added at the org level, the connector appears in every user's Connectors list. Each user still needs to click Connect once and sign in with their own Juristat credentials.
