While using AI-assisted features from Juristat, like in all AI tools, you may occasionally notice inaccuracies. In an attempt to be as helpful as possible, the AI models that power Juristat's features can occasionally produce responses that are inaccurate or misleading.

This is commonly referred to as "hallucination," and it's a known limitation of today's large language models. For example, an AI model may not have been trained on the most current information and can struggle when asked about recent events or newly issued patents. It can also generate text; including quotes, citations, or legal-sounding language; that appears authoritative but is not grounded in fact. In other words, AI-generated content can look correct while being significantly mistaken.

Users should not treat Juristat's AI-assisted features as the sole source of truth. Any AI-generated output that informs high-stakes decisions (e.g. prosecution strategy, response drafting, or claim analysis) should be carefully reviewed by a qualified patent professional. Juristat's AI is designed to do the heavy lifting on research and analysis, but final decisions should always rest with the attorney or legal professional.

When working with AI-generated summaries or analysis, always cross-reference against the underlying USPTO data and original source documents. Important context or nuance can be lost in synthesis, and the quality of any AI response depends on the accuracy of the inputs it draws from.

If you encounter an AI response that seems off, use the feedback options within the product to let us know, or reach out to our support team at [support@juristat.com].

Juristat is actively exploring more ways to integrate AI into our products to produce better, cleaner, more reliable results for IP professionals, and we seek to do so responsibly. For more information, contact your account manager.
