Below you'll find definitions for the metrics displayed in the Key Metrics table on Business Intelligence reports. 

Filed

The number of applications filed.  This will be the total number of applications filed unless you have applied any filters.  When filters are applied, this will show the total number of applications filed that match your filter criteria.

Disposed

The number of applications disposed (either allowed or abandoned).  This will be the total number of applications disposed unless you have applied any filters.  When filters are applied, this will show the total number of applications disposed that match your filter criteria.

Allowance Rate

Allowance Rate is calculated by taking the number of allowed applications divided by the number of allowed and abandoned applications.

Months to Disposition

The average number of months between the time an application is filed and when the application is disposed.

Office Actions

The average number of office actions filed per application from the time the application is filed to the time it is allowed.

Ind. Claims Change

The average difference between the number of independent claims in an application at publishing and the number of independent claims in an application at allowance.

Dep. Claims Change

The average difference between the number of dependent claims in an application at publishing and the number of dependent claims in an application at allowance.
