What is Juristat IDS?

Juristat IDS provides ready-to-file IDS forms within two business days of an event triggering a duty to disclose.  Triggering events include:

  • Rejections issued on a U.S. application: Juristat will automatically generate IDS forms when we detect that a prior art rejection has been issued on a U.S. application.  Juristat will traverse the patent family tree to produce any required IDS forms.
  • New Filings: Juristat will generate an IDS form citing all prior art disclosed across the patent family when notified by the client that a new filing is about to occur. The client will need to provide documentation of prior art search results or the application number of another application in the patent family.
  • Rejections issued on a foreign application: Juristat will generate any necessary IDS forms for related U.S. applications across the patent family when notified by the client that there has been a rejection issued on a foreign application.  The client will need to provide a copy of the foreign rejection and the application number of the related U.S. application.
  • PCT findings or decisions: Juristat will generate any necessary IDS forms for U.S. applications across the patent family when notified by the client that there have been PCT findings or a decision triggering the duty to file IDS forms in U.S. applications.  The client will need to provide Juristat with a copy of the PCT findings or decision and the application number of the related U.S. application.

Accessing IDS Forms

IDS forms will be delivered via a secure email link.  In order to download an IDS, you will need to be logged in to Juristat's web application in order to verify your identity.

Clicking the link in the email will allow you to download the IDS form (and prior art, if elected in your subscription) as a .zip file.

How do I know the delivered forms are accurate?

Juristat leverages AI to increase speed and reduce costs, but we also employ a team of human analysts to review the work done by our AI and ensure the highest quality in every document. All human analysts are U.S.-based full-time employees of Juristat. Further, they are background checked annually, required to sign extensive confidentiality agreements, and undergo frequent cybersecurity training.
