One of the key ways Juristat clients are using Platform is to monitor their pending applications.  Whether you work at a law firm or are in-house, keeping track of pending applications is key and Platform provides the unparalleled ability to see exactly the information you need to keep your application portfolio on track.

Below are a few ways our clients have used Platform to get actionable information about their applications.

Identify Outliers

Using Platform's Table View, you can quickly identify applications that have more than two RCEs filed, have a recent extension request, or have more than four office actions in front of examiners unlikely to allow applications after three.

By clicking "Edit Columns", you can select any of over 125 different pieces of information to view about your applications.  Sort on those columns to identify outlier applications with large numbers of RCEs or a high extension rate.

See a description of all fields available here.

Should we interview?

Identifying instances where an interview gives your application a better chance of success couldn't be easier.  Once you've selected a set of applications to monitor (either through filters or a keyword search), add the following columns in Table View...

  • Examiner Allowance Rate with Interview
  • Examiner Allowance Rate without Interview
  • Num. Office Actions
  • Num. Interviews

(To add columns, click the "Edit Columns" button in the upper right corner of the table!)

Once you've added those columns, you can sort by either the number of office actions or the number of interviews in the prosecution.

This allows you to quickly and easily identify applications where there is a large discrepancy between an examiner's allowance rate for applications that have an interview in the prosecution vs. those without an interview.

Quickly locate applications where an interview would be beneficial to the application's chance for success.

RCE and Interview Win Rates

Want to know quickly which of your apps are in front of examiners who favor RCEs over interviews?

Add the "Examiner RCE Win Rate" column and the "Examiner Interview Win Rate" column to compare the two.

Juristat Tip: Any fields with a download icon next to them require you to export your table to a .csv to calculate those fields.  Learn more about exporting here.
