The basic Competitor Comparison dashboard allows you to select your top competitors and then compare them against your own company on a standard set of metrics.

Select Competitors

In the "Select Competitors" dropdown, use the search bar to find your company's competitors. Once you've selected your competitors, click "update" to add your competitors' data to the graphs and charts below.

Metrics

After adding your competitors, you can view the following metrics about your organization and your competitors as line graphs:

  • Allowance Rate by Disposition Year

    • Allowance rate is calculated as the number of allowed applications divided by the total number of disposed applications (allowed + abandoned).

  • Average Office Actions by Disposition Year

    • Average Office Actions is calculated as the average number of office actions per disposed application. Office actions include non-final rejections, final rejections, restriction/election requirements, and Ex parte Quayle actions.

  • Pendency by Disposition Year

    • Pendency is displayed in months and calculated as the average number of months between an application’s filing date and an application’s allowance or abandonment date.

Additionally, view the top CPC classes and tech centers for your company and its competitors by changing the selected company in the dropdown above each donut chart.

For more detailed competitor comparisons, check out the Premium version of this dashboard.
